Renewable energy and modern waste management is one of the main topics of the beginning of the International Ecological Forum in Kołobrzeg. At the largest event of its kind in Poland, that brings together representatives of the government, local government, world of business and science around ecology, there will be also a presentation of Poznań and experience in the Energy from Waste Plant (EfW).
During three-day meeting (16-18 September 2015), 15 thematic panels will be held, which will be attended by 60 speakers and nearly 700 listeners. Experts will discuss, among others, on the development of the sector of energy from waste. Representatives of Poznań municipality will share their experience from the construction of EfW in public-private partnership model. During the Forum thematic ThinkTank meetings will be organised involving ministries and central offices.
Owing to the commitment of the National and Provincial Funds for Environmental Protection, for the participants of the Forum, workshops on the implementation of pro-environmental solutions and possibilities for their finance in the near term have been prepared.
The forum will be accompanied by ecological fair during which there will be an information-promotional stand of the campaign "Recover and Use", conducted since 2014 by the City of Poznań. The campaign's goal is to develop appropriate pro-ecological attitudes among the residents through dissemination of knowledge on selective waste collection and building awareness that waste is a valuable energy resource.
The Second International Ecological Forum is organised by the Polish Ecological Foundation under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Infrastructure and Development and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
